Strictly Come Dancing live!

October 30, 2009 |20:56 | Gossips  By : Team X

Strictly Come Dancing live! The dancing deadwood is finally being hacked down. Joe Calzaghe and Jo Wood have gone, and one can only hope that Craig Kelly, hardworking and enthusiastic though he may be, is the next one out of Strictly. True, he'll not get to fulfil his ambition of dancing in his hometown of Blackpool when the show's broadcast from there in a few weeks did he mention that at all? but we can't always get what we want, as Ronnie Wood's band once informed us.

Dancing with the Stars: Who's Dancing What in Week 7

October 30, 2009 |12:43 | Competitions  By : Team X

Dancing with the Stars is more than halfway over with only seven couples remaining, and that numbers gets a lot smaller next week with yet another double elimination.

Dancing with the Stars: Who's Dancing What in Week 7?

Week 7 will give the finalists a bit of freedom, as each couple can choose any dance form on the season so far they haven't done.  Combine with team dancing, week 7 of Dancing with the Stars will certainly separate the leaders from the followers as we narrow the field down to the final five.

Double the Terror Equals Double the Fun on Dancing With the Stars

October 30, 2009 |12:41 | Competitions  By : Team X

Double the Terror Equals Double the Fun on Dancing With the Stars Dancing With the Stars milked every drop of suspense they could out of two celebs being on the chopping block tonight, with all of the contestants having to don bright new costumes just in case they were forced into a dance-off to save their sequined skins. Following a performance show that provided hard-fought validation for some and was purely mediocre for others, Donny Osmond had "the living daylights" scared out of him by the prospect of a double elimination, while Aaron Carter, faced with a bottom-two finish the two previous weeks, mock-tearfully pleaded with the audience to save him for the sake of Karina.

Dancing With the Stars: The Michael Irvin Conspiracy

October 29, 2009 |11:37 | Celebrities | Events | Gossips  By : Team X

Dancing With the Stars: The Michael Irvin ConspiracyLast night's Dancing With the Stars results show kicked off in an even more insanely dramatic fashion than normal. The montage of clips from the competition ep featured fireball cuts and blood and heavy metal! It's like Stephen Colbert without the irony. It was all because this week saw the elimination of two of the "stars," as will next week. Bring on the filler!

Tom Bergeron and Lady Co-Host wasted no time talking about the dance-off that was moments away, but before they'd even gotten out like two sentences, they turned things over to the earnestly mediocre pop-country singer Taylor Swift, whose name sounds way too porny for me not to worry about her future. Why was she there? Good ol' vertical integration! She's up for entertainer of the year at the Country Music Association Awards, airing sometime soon (I didn't bother to note when) on, yes, ABC. Blah blah, let's do some cutting. Safe for now: Joanna and Mark. Unrelated: Donny Osmond wore a green sequined jacket that threatened to melt my eyes. The night's second network plug went to Eastwick, whose stars were assembled on the front row for a brief shout-out from Tom.

Julianne Hough uncertain about her 'Dancing with the Stars' return

October 29, 2009 |11:35 | Celebrities | Gossips  By : Team X

"I don't know when I'm gonna be back," Hough told Access Hollywood correspondent La Toya Jackson at Monday night's performance episode. "It feels weird to be here and like, not actually be dancing, but it was fun to watch."Last November, the two-time Dancing with the Stars professional champion had stated she would not be back for the show's Spring 2009 eighth season.  She subsequently reiterated the decision was "final" because she wanted to focus on her singing career and be "taken seriously" as a musician.

However shortly thereafter Hough stated she "may have put my foot in my mouth when I said I wasn't going to come back next season" -- and that turned out to be the case when she was paired with boyfriend Chuck Wicks for the eighth season, which she later explained was a "last-minute deal.

Michael Irvin survives again on 'Dancing With the Stars' as Louie Vito, Melissa Joan Hart eliminated

Michael Irvin survives again on 'Dancing With the Stars' as Louie Vito, Melissa Joan Hart eliminatedMichael Irvin is eluding elimination on 'Dancing With the Stars' almost as deftly as he did NFL cornerbacks, although the odds are long against him making it to the 'end zone' on ABC's hit dancing competition. The former Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver survived the first double-elimination show of the season Tuesday night, as he and professional partner Anna Demidova edged snowboarder Louie Vito and partner Chelsie Hightower in the season's first dance-off.

Earlier in the evening, actress Melissa Joan Hart ("Sabrina the Teenage Witch," "Clarissa Explains It All") was eliminated outright with partner Mark Ballas, finishing last among the nine remaining couples when viewer votes were added to judges' scores. "That's the game," Hart said. "It's tough. I was hoping to make it one more week."

Michael Irvin survives again on 'Dancing With the Stars' as Louie Vito, Melissa Joan Hart eliminatedAs the next two lowest-scoring couples, Irvin and Demidova faced Vito and Hightower in the dance-off, each having 30 seconds to perform a new routine for the judges. Both couples went for energy: Irvin and Demidova showed off Irvin's outsized personality in the samba, while Vito and Hightower relied on the quick movements of the jive.

The elimination was a tough one for the judges, who made their choice by a split decision. Bruno Tonioli revealed his vote first, choosing Vito and Hightower, but after Len Goodman cast his vote for Irvin and Demidova, Carrie-Ann Inaba chose to keep the gridiron star and his partner alive for one more week.

"This is a lot harder than it looks," Vito said after his elimination. "Everyday I got out there and danced, I was proud of myself just for getting out there."

Next week's show is another double-elimination, which means that Irvin and Demidova would have to beat out at least two other couples to survive, and while Kelly Osbourne and Louis van Amstel may be within striking distance (their Monday score was closest to the bottom group), the other five remaining couples all scored significantly higher (although singer Aaron Carter and partner Karina Smirnoff were in the bottom two twice in the last three weeks).

Dancing With the Stars results: Who goes home?

October 28, 2009 |12:33 | Gossips  By : Team X

Another "Dancing With the Stars" results show. I'm going to keep the recap quick. First up, Taylor Swift performs (such a showstopper compared to Norah Jones -- sorry, Norah). Then, we get a recap of last night's performance show. Joanna Krupa and Derek Hough finished at the head of the pack with a 26. There's a three-way tie at the bottom. The bottom couple will go home; the next two at the bottom will compete head to head in a dance off. Those couples will get to choose the dance. Oh, DWTS, having to keep changing the way things are done, otherwise no one will watch the results shows anymore, except for recappers. (More faithful viewers: Has the show done this before? It hasn't during the results shows of seasons past that I've watched.) The first couple we learn are safe are Joanna and Derek. They are joined by Mark Dacascos and  Lacey Schwimmer. After some filler, we learn Donny Osmond and Kym Johnson are safe. So are Aaron Cater and Karina Smirnoff. After a commercial break, a performance by Tiempo Libre and some talk about designing costumes (yawn!), they are joined by Mya and Dmitry Chaplin and birthday girl Kelly Osbourne and Louis Van Amstel.
